When our clients place orders with us, we find they are often worried that we will be unable to access information related to their studies. Perhaps their program was completed many years ago or their school no longer exists. However, clients can rest assured that IEE has an extensive collection of resources available to assist us in completing evaluations, and we utilize a variety of sources to ensure that the evaluations are as accurate as possible.
When our evaluators first begin their research, a starting point we commonly use is the Electronic Database for Global Education (EDGE) developed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). This database contains educational ladders for the education systems of nearly every country around the world as well as specific credential information, grading scales, and archived country studies providing snapshots of the educational systems at specific points in the past.
Another resource we often utilize is the Wayback Machine, which captures webpages over time and allows us to view program information from a specific period. Say for example a student completed a bachelor’s degree program in 2005. We can utilize the Wayback Machine to search for program information from then, as it is possible that the program might have changed in the meantime. This allows us to be confident that we have accessed the most relevant information possible.
Beyond these sources, we also have an extensive resource library, which is one component of our membership in the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Our evaluators pore through these resources and document their findings to provide evidence for our evaluation decisions.
As one client commented, “I was pleasantly surprised at the final report that I received. My qualifications were obtained in Africa in the 70s. So much has changed since then. However, the report was accurate and true to the circumstances. I would most definitely use this company again for academic evaluations. Very happy and impressed client.” IEE takes pride in the fact that we are able to research credentials in-depth to provide accurate evaluations, and we are constantly developing our knowledge and our resource library to ensure the best possible evaluations for our clients.
